One of the many highlights of the 22-film programme, curated by LAC founder Martin Pickles, is Gemma Atkinson’s film Act Of Terror, which details her experience of being handcuffed and detained by police for filming them on her mobile phone. The film was facilitated by LAC by introducing Gemma to animator Una Marzorati. The film got 150,000 views on its first day on The Guardian website.
The programme also features Exquisite Corpses, LAC's first group project. Each participant has made a four-second animation, with the last frame of each section becoming the first frame of the next. The result is a Surrealist comic maelstrom, starring Neil Armstrong, Emmeline Pankhurst and Boris Johnson.
